Myrtle was born on September 22nd, 1888 in Willaston, SA.1   Myrtle's father was Arthur BROWN and her mother was Sarah McNAMARA.  Her paternal grandparents were George BROWN and Sarah HEBBARD (HEBBERD); her maternal grandparents were Timothy McNAMARA and <Unknown>. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Albert, Arthur, Violet and Majorie.  She was the oldest of the five known children.
