Elizabeth was born in 1805 in Suffolk, England.1   Elizabeth's father was John Carman and her mother was Elizabeth Hunt/Carman.  Her paternal grandparents were John Carman and Mary Crowfoot/Carman.  She had a brother and two sisters, named Simon, Barbara Ann and Mary.  She was the oldest of the four children.  She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, John and Ruth.  She died at the age of 9 in 1814.1
