Elizabeth was born in 1778.1   Elizabeth's father was John Carman and her mother was Mary Crowfoot/Carman.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert Carman and Mary Carman.  She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Robert, John, Simon, Simon, James, William, Henry, Rebecca, Mary, Mary and Virtue.  She died at the age of 37 in 1815.1
