Magdalena was born on March 24th, 1938 in Temesvár.  Magdalena's father was Andreas Kehl and her mother was Katharine  Wittman.  Her paternal grandparents were Nikolaus Kehl and Magdalena Blum. She had two brothers and a sister, named Michael, Franz and Susanne.  She is the youngest of the four children.
