Thomas was born in 1860 in Dewitt, Clinton, Iowa. Thomas' father was Timothy MAY and his mother was Mary TOBIN. His paternal grandparents were James MAY and Betsy BRITEKIRK; his maternal grandparents were Thomas TOBIN and Jane CLIFFORD. He had four brothers and six sisters, named James Theodore, Jack, Michael Francis, Timothy Joseph, Lizzy, Molly, Maggy, Kate, Julia Ann and Gertrude Bernadette. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 31 in 1891.General Notes
