Percival, known as Percy, was born on April 28th, 1890. Percy's father was Herbert Mason and his mother was Mary Lemon James. His paternal grandparents were William Mason and Emily Marshall; his maternal grandmother was Kezia Lemon. He had five brothers and a sister, named Fred, Vic, Les, Arthur, Bob and Lucy. He had a half-brother named Harold. He died at the age of 49 on January 15th, 1940 in Wellington New Zealand.

General Notes
- Started work as a telegraph boy and worked his way up to being appointed as the deputy chief engineer of the New Zealand post office just a few months before he died and had been responsible for much of the telecommunications design in the Auckland post office
