    Luke4 Waldrop, Sr (Michael3, Michael2, William1 Wardrope) was born 1710 in Amelia Co, VA, and died 1779 in Laurens Co, SC. He md Christine Trevillian Abt. 1731 in Amelia Co, VA, daughter of James Trevillian and Christian Henderson. She was born 1714 in VA, and died 1775 in Laurens Co, SC.
    
    Luke was in Hanover Co, VA in 1734. He received a Land Grant in Granville Co, NC in 1749. He bought land in Laurens Co, SC in 1772. He left a Will but it has not been found. 2.
    The documenation that Luke of Hanover Co, VA and Granville Co, NC was the same person is that he made his 'mark' the same way. 3. John, James, Joseph and Jechonias are documented sons of Luke. Family Tradition says that Mary Ann was Luke's daughter. Circumstantial evidence indicate that Luke, Jr. was Luke's son.
    (Notes World Family Tree Pedigree #6344 (1995): Luke and his wife Christian made their first home in Amelia Co, VA, where their neighbors included various Waldrep relatives. They moved to Granville Co, NC, in or before 1760 and received several land grants from John Earl Granville. All their children were born in Virginia and appear to have been reared thee. About 1760, there began the Waldrep migration into North Carolina and from there to South Carolina in 1771 and then Georgia and Texas.

    The line of Luke is based upon written records of wills and deeds.
    Luke was in 1734 Hanover Co, VA. He received a Land Grant in 1749 Granville Co, NC. He wa s a Corporal in the 1763 Granville Co, NC Militia.He bought land in 1772 Laurens Co, SC. He left a will, but it has notbeen found.
    John, James, Joseph and Jechonias are documented sons of Luke. Family Tradition says that Mary Ann was Luke's daughter. Circumstantial evidence indicate that Luke, jr. was Luke's son. Possibly Luke had additonal daughters whose names are not known. Possibly Luke married more than once, but Christian is his only documented wife. There is no documentation that Luke was a grandson of Michael I. However, a number of Luke's descendants were named Claiborne, and Michael I is the only connection to Claiborne.
