John Welcome Almand

John Welcome was born on November 9th, 1840 in Rockdale co, GA. John Welcome's father was Welcome Ussery Almand and his mother was Nancy Gray. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Almand and Nancy David. He was an only child. He died at the age of 75 on June 2nd, 1916 in Canyers, Rockdale co, GA. He was buried in Ebenezer Church Cemetery, Conyers, Rockdale co, GA.

  Durant la guerre de Sécession a été blessé trois fois et a participé dans l'armée de la Virginie du Nord aux batailles de Seven Pines, Winchester, Gettysburg, Chickanauga, Knoxville, The Wilderness, Spotsylvania. A été fait prisonnier lors de l'évacuation de Pi... de trois jours après la rédition de Lee.
  
  S'est remarié en 1907 avec Olra Shattux (?) qui lui a survécu.
