Maria Flora's father was Cel José Ferraz de Camargo and her mother was Eulália de Oliveira Lacerda.  Her paternal grandparents were Jose Ferraz de Campos and Maria da Anunciação Camargo; her maternal grandparents were Cel Joaquim de Oliveira Lacerda and Rita de Oliveira. She had three sisters named Maria do Carmo, Maria Rita and Maria Eulália. She had seven half-brothers and seven half-sisters, named Antonio, José, Manuel, Francisco, Jose Henrique, Alfredo, João Batista, Ana, Gertrudes, Ambrosina, Maria Anunciação, Francisca, Antonia and Maria Isabel.
