Ana Candida's father was Manuel Ferraz de Camargo and her mother was Maria Carolina de Barros.  Her paternal grandparents were Cel José Ferraz de Camargo and Antonia Ferraz de Sampaio. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named Manuel, Otávio, Carolina, Antonia, Maria Elisa, Valdomira, Durvalina, Francisca, Elisa and Maria Isabel.
