Benet was born in 1788 in Masllorenc.  Benet's father was Pau Colet Esplugues and his mother is Magdalena Miguel.  His paternal grandparents were Lluis Colet and Gertrudis Esplugues Calvet. He had a brother and four sisters, named Josep, Maria, Antonia, Josefa and Rosa.  Benet is no longer alive.
