Josep was born on May 16th, 1774 in Vilafranca del Penedès.  Josep's father is Francisco Grau Serra and his mother is Maria Colet Esplugues.  His maternal grandparents were Lluis Colet and Gertrudis Esplugues Calvet. He had two brothers named Francisco and Salvi.  He was the youngest of the three children.  Josep is no longer alive.
