Jaume was born on June 10th, 1751 in La Bisbal del Penedes. His godfather was Pau Colet hab. de Rubio (Pa. Alba) and his godmother was Madrona Colet donzella de Marmellar. Jaume's father was Jaume Colet Bas and his mother was Madrona Giró. His paternal grandfather was Antoni Colet (Sendra) and his paternal grandmother is Maria Bas. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Anton, Josep, Joan, Pau, Miquel, Pere, Joan, Magí, Maria and Antònia.-
