Robert Brown was born on June 8th, 1851. Robert Brown's father was William Wishart and his mother was Margaret Snodgrass. His paternal grandparents were James Wishart and Jane Riddel; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Snodgrass and Jane Valentine. He had a brother and three sisters, named William, Margaret, Jane Susan Brown and Alicia Anna. He was the second youngest of the five children.-
