Her paternal grandparents were John Wells and Mary Ann Bennett; her maternal grandparents were Robert Harrow and Susanah Read. She had five brothers and a sister, named Fred, Charles, William, Thomas, Sidney George and Amelia. She was the second youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 86 on November 14th, 1991 in Herne Bay, Kent, England.-
