Sir William Stanley (of Holt ) 
William was born in 1437 in Lytham, Lancashire, England. William's father was Sir Thomas Stanley of Lathom (1st Lord Stanley) and his mother was Joan Goushill. His paternal grandparents were Sir John Stanley of Lathom Sheriff of Anglesey and Elizabeth (Isabel) Harrington. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, James, Katherine, Margaret and Elizabeth. He died by execution, beheaded, at the age of 57 on February 16th, 1494 in Tower Hill, The City, London, England. He was buried in Holt Castle, Denbighshire, Wales.-
