Alexander was born in 1382 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.  Alexander's father was William Seton and his mother was Janet Fleming. He had a brother named John.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 59 in 1441 in Huntly Castle, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
