Eileen's father was Henry Ernest May and her mother was Isabella (Isabel) Malcolm. Her maternal grandparents were Andrew Wilson Malcolm and Jemima Crawford Souter. She had two brothers and a sister, named Leslie, Malcolm and Sheila.-
