Marion was born on August 6th, 1720 in Leslie, Fife, Scotland. Marion's father was Thomas Ireland and her mother was Margaret Ingles. Her paternal grandparents were George Ireland and Marie Chrystie. She had three brothers and four sisters, named George, Andrew, Thomas, Margaret, Janet, Isabel and Susannah. Marion and George were twins.-
