Colonel Hon. William Dalrymple (of Glenmure) 
William was born before 1688. William 's father was John Dalrymple (1st Earl of Stair) and his mother was Elizabeth Dundas. His paternal grandparents were Sir James Dalrymple (1st Viscount Stair) and Margaret (Witch of Endor) Ross. He had two brothers named George and John. He had a half-sister named Margaret. He died on December 3rd, 1744.
