His paternal grandparents were Thomas Bisdee and Elizabeth Bishop; his maternal grandparents were Unknown Kemp and Unknown. He had two sisters named Mary Helena and Annie Jane. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 64 on December 15th, 1926 in Oatlands, Tasmania, Australia. He was buried in St.James Anglican, Jericho.-
