John was born in 1888.  John's father was Harry Armour and his mother was Margaret Elliot.  His paternal grandparents were John Armour and Jane Gay. He had two brothers named Thomas Elliot and Winifred Margaret Elliotborn.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 51 on September 5th, 1939 in Niddrie Mains Farm.
