Nellie outlived [her husband] by 13 years, and made her home at Bridgeport. She died at home at the age of 74 on March 3, 1954. The Connellsville Daily Courier said she had suffered from "a lingering illness." At the time, she had 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

On May 21, 1963, Alvin became ill and was rushed to Frick Community Hospital in town. There, four hours later, he died. He was buried at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Pearl outlived her husband, but her fate is unknown.
