Oscar was born on April 25th, 1890 in Hebron, Morton County, North Dakota, USA.1  Oscar's father was Daniel Fredrick “Dan” Sprecher and his mother was Susanna Hintz (Sprecher).  His paternal grandparents were Friedrich Jon “Fred” Sprecher and Louise “Christine” Gruning (Sprecher) Grunning; his maternal grandparents were Johann Freidrich Hintz and Louisa Nuske (Hintz). He had five brothers and two sisters, named Christian, Rudolph, Arthur, Robert, Ben, Paulina and Hulda.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 85 on November 20th, 1975 in Eugene, Lane County, Oregon, USA.1
