August was born on September 20th, 1887 in Leipzig (Leibzig), Bessarabia, Russia (now Ukraine).1  August's father was Wilhelm Sprecher and his mother was Justina Stelter (Sprecher).  His paternal grandparents were Christian Albrecht Sprecher and Christina Braun (Sprecher). He had three brothers and three sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Christian, Daniel, Samuel, Sophie, Juliana, Marie and ?.  He was the second oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 73 in 1960.1

August and Olga were married in a religious & civil ceremony on January 24th, 1907.1
