Esther was born on August 4th, 1862 in Champion, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.1  Esther's father was Henry Pletcher and her mother was Mary Foust (Pletcher).  Her paternal grandparents were David Pletcher Jr and Phoebe Nichols (Pletcher); her maternal grandparents were Adam Foust and Mary Stull (Foust). She had two brothers and two sisters, named Adam, Norman, Minerva and Lucetta.  She was the oldest of the five known children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named William, David and Lydia.  She died at the age of 80 on April 1st, 1943.1 

Esther's family

Esther and Levi were married in a religious & civil ceremony.1   They had three sons and five daughters, named Sherman, Rush, Nelson, Grace, Lola, Ethel, Ocha and Martha.
