Ann was born about 1717 in Marston, Moreteyne/ Moretaine, Bedfordshire, England.1  Ann's father was William Nixon and her mother was Mary Pettit (Nixon).  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Nixon and ? ? (Nixon). She had three brothers and a sister, named Samuel, ?, George and Mary.  She was the third oldest of the five known children.

Ann and John were married in a religious & civil ceremony on October 11th, 1738 in Marston, Moreteyne/ Moretaine, Bedfordshire, England. They had four sons and four daughters, named William, John, Joseph, Samuel, Mary, Alice, Anne and Elizabeth.
