Van was born on November 26th, 1932 in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas.1  Van's father was ? Bourland and his mother was Mayble Elizabeth Monroe (Hebenthal).  His maternal grandparents were William Henry Monroe and Mary Elizabeth Petitt (Monroe). He had a brother and a sister, named William and Marilyn.  He was adopted by Russel Eric Hebenthal who also adopted William.  He died at the age of 58 on May 7th, 1991 in Pensacola, Florida, USA.2 

Van's family

Van and Betty were married in a religious & civil ceremony.2   They had four daughters named Sue, Linda, Debra and Karen.
