William was born in 1796 in Poringland, Norfolk.¹ William's father was James Lincoln and his mother was Mary Plummer. He had four brothers named James, Jeremiah, John and Zachariah. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at the age of 91 in 1887 in Henstead, Norfolk.²
