James was born on March 16th, 1799 in Church Street, Durham, Co Durham and his christening took place on March 17th, 1799 in The Chapel Of The Secular Clergy And The Jesuits, Co Durham.^1 2   James' father was John Henderson and his mother was Jane Perkins. He had a sister named Jane.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 82 on January 30th, 1882.
