John Sangster

John was born in 1848.  John's father was John Sangster and his mother was Sarah Anne Ranns.  His paternal grandparents were John Sangster and Elizabeth Blake; his maternal grandparents were George Ranns and unknown. He had five brothers and three sisters, named George, Charles, Louis, Henry, William, Louisa, Elizabeth and Emma.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 44 on December 23rd, 1892.

  • Died 23rd December 1892, at 11am in the 7th hour of his shift at Hebburn Colliery. He was riding on a full set contrary to rules and was crushed against the roof
