William Roberts 
William was born in 1781 in Hunslet, Leeds, Yorkshire.1 William's father was John Roberts and his mother was Mary Nicolson. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Roberts and Esther Leathley. He had two brothers and a sister, named Samuel, James and Rachel. He was the second youngest of the four children.-
