Matilda Quilter 
Matilda was born in 1843 in Seaham Harbour, Co Durham.1 Matilda's father was Frederick Quilter and her mother was Isabella Hunter. Her paternal grandparents were Nathan Jackson Quilter and Martha Guttree; her maternal grandparents were Robert Haswell Hunter and Hannah Jane Ford. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Frederick, Robert, Martha, Mary and Isabella. She was the third oldest of the six children.-
