Harriet was born on May 21st, 1822 in Bramhope, Yorkshire and her baptism took place on June 16th, 1822.1   Harriet's father was John Hargraves and her mother was Mary. She had three brothers and a sister, named John, William, John and Hannah.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
