William Briggs

William was born in 1896 in Hunslet, Leeds, Yorkshire.¹ William's father was Thomas Briggs and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Smith. His maternal grandparents were Charles Smith and Mary Ann Storey. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Lawrence, Harry, Mabel and Edna. He was the second youngest of the five children.
