Betty Barnfather

Betty was born in 1776 in Lanercost, Cumberland and her baptism took place there on May 4th, 1776. Betty's father was John Barnfather and her mother was Jane Rowntree. Her paternal grandparents were William Barnfather and Mary Tallantyre; her maternal grandparents were James Rowntree and Margaret Armstrong. She had a brother and five sisters, named John, Jane, Isabel, Nancy, Sarah and Barbara. She was the second oldest of the seven children.
