Laura was born in 1876 in Long Itchington.¹   Laura's father was Frederick JEPHCOTE and her mother was Ann GREEN. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, Fred, John, Lavinia, Emma, Annie, Annie and Fanny.  She was the oldest of the nine children.
