Ирина was born on September 22nd, 1912.  Ирина's father was Митрофан Григориев Сидоренко and her mother was Евфросиния Феодорова Иванько (Сидоренко).  Her paternal grandparents were Григорий Никитин Сидоренко and Татиана Мартинова Скороход (Сидоренко). She had four brothers and a sister, named Павел, Андрей, Никифор, Тимофей and Доминикия.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
