Василий was born on March 6th, 1887.  Василий's father was Диомид Перфильевич Песоцкий and his mother was Елена Прокофиева (Песоцкая).  His paternal grandparents were Пархомий Макариев Песоцкий and Мария Федорова Верба (Песоцкая). He had five brothers and three sisters, named Кондрат, Павел, Исидор, Агрипина , Петр, Ксения, Сиклитикия and Евдокия.  He was the third youngest of the nine children.
