Ефросиния was born in 1761.  Ефросиния's father was Никифор Феодосиев Хрущ and her mother was Евфимия Иаковлева (Хрущ).  Her paternal grandparents were Феодосий Феодоров Хрущ and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Иаков Хрущ and <Unknown>. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Григорий, Евстафий, Лаврентий, Агафия and Параскева.  She was the youngest of the six children.
