Robert was born on April 12th, 1801 in Thorne Quay.  Robert's father is John Cusworth and his mother is Sarah Chilvers.  His maternal grandparents are Robert Chilvers and Rebecca. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, George, Christopher, James, John, Rebecca and Mary.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 67 in 1868.
