Alice was born in 1901. Alice's father was William M Atkinson and her mother was Betsy Ann Bird. Her paternal grandfather was Pennock Atkinson and her paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Elliff; her maternal grandparents were James Bird and Mary Ann Jackson. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Abraham Doubleday, William (Will) D, Rebecca (Becky), Blanche E and Margaret (Maggie) A. She was the youngest of the six children. She died due to a respiratory problem and/or pneumonia, Tuberculosis, at the age of 14 on May 27th, 1915 in Scarborough.¹
