James Monroe Lane 
James was born on February 10th, 1893 in Dupont, Monmouth, New Jersey. James' father was John E Lane and his mother was Lydia Hannah Patterson (Lane). His paternal grandparents were Herod Lane and Harriet Cranmer (Lane); his maternal grandparents were Gordon Patterson and Ellen (Patterson). He had a brother and four sisters, named Gordon, Lizzie, Ella, Hattie and Clara. He was the third youngest of the six children.-
