Rhaegel's father was Daeron II Targaryen “The Good” and his mother was Myriah Martell.  His paternal grandparents were Aegon IV Targaryen “The Unworthy” and Naerys Targaryen. He had three brothers named Baelor, Aerys I and Maekar I.

‌Rhaegel and Alys were married.  They had a son and two daughters, named Aelor, Aelora and Daenora.  Aelor and Aelora were twins.
