Thomas Bell (Herbert)

- Told his family just before he died in 1888 that his true last name was Hebert. It seems that he came from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He spent 18 months on a whaling vessel to avoid being drafted into the King's Army. He had one brother - Olivia - and two sisters: Marie Louise and Deliede.

Thomas' father was Samuel Bell and his mother was Marie Pagett. He had a brother named Samuel. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 83 in 1888 in Louisiana, USA.
