Marri's father was Peeter Plaksi and her mother was Ann Lorits. Her maternal grandparents were Peter Lorits and Liso Adamson. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Johan, Kusta, Pauline and Wilhelmine. She was the oldest of the five children. She had a half-sister named Jula.
