Petrus Joseph's father was Franciscus Josephus Vervaeke and his mother was Isabelle Rose Viaene.  His paternal grandparents were Jean Vervaeke and Marie Jeanne Buysschaert. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Joannes Baptiste, Eduardus, Ange Francois, Marie Jeanne Therese, Rosalie Francoise, Ida Seraphina and Amelia Francisca.  He died on June 14th, 1826.
