Henricus was born on August 27th, 1861.  Henricus' father was Lucas Bernard Algoet and his mother was Melanie Blanckaert.  His paternal grandparents were Leo Algoet and Angela Hoste. He had three brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Ludovicus Fredericus, Petrus Alfonsius, Constantius Emilius, Juliana, Ludovica Melania, Marie Romanie, Irma Fedora and Doodgeboren.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
