Carolus was born on December 3rd, 1823.  Carolus' father was Leo Algoet and his mother was Angela Hoste.  His paternal grandparents were Adrianus Algoet and Anna Maria Coudijzer. He had three brothers and a sister, named Lucas Bernard, Augustinus, Frederick and Barbara Theresia.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 31 on April 16th, 1855.
