Birth Notes
Edward Gove settled in Hampton, New Hampshire and became a very prominent citizen. He headed a movement to overthrow Governor Cranfield of New Hampshire, but the conspiracy failed and he and ten others, including son, John were arrested and tried for treason, He was found guilty and sentenced to death and his estate seized for the crown. The others were pardoned after conviction, but he was sent to London and kept there for three years in the Tower of London. At length he was also pardoned and his estates restored to him.
